Listening to music is probably one of the most common things everyone does on their Android phone. Having free access to music is very limited and you have to deal with annoying ads and limitations on your experience. Still, if you are a fan of new and upcoming artists, you should definitely check out SoundCloud.
SoundCloud is a music streaming service for independent music artists. Among other platforms, it has an Android app. There are no commercial interruptions and discovering new music is very easy. After you create your account, you are ready to start exploring. The home screen is full of various playlists that are popular with other SoundCloud users.
The Stream tab is great for keeping up with new releases by artists you have added as your favorites. There is a separate tab for music and artist search, and the last tab is reserved for your library where you can view liked tracks, saved playlists & albums, followed artists, and stations.
After opening a song, you can expand it and read comments users have left in certain parts of the song or you can leave your own comments. The listening experience is great and it looks awesome in fullscreen. You can skip to the next song simply by swiping. There are no limitations to how many times you can skip a song or something similar. The only limitation is that you can't download songs. Also, don't expect SoundCloud to replace your primary music streaming app as you won't be able to listen to popular artists. However, those who want to enjoy cool indie music should definitely check it out!
